Quick TO:SS Week 14: Packers versus Giants

Green Bay has played themselves into playoff contention.

GB (6-6) T2 (7-5)

I was wrong about the Thanksgiving tilt against the Lions. (The best kind of wrong.) I was NOT, however, wrong about the Packers beating the Chiefs. So, the Packers picked up the dub and a last minute change of heart gives us the W. Now we move on to Week 14 action, Monday night, against the Giants.

Last season, in London, the Giants were the genesis of a tailspin for the Pack. Green Bay coughed that game up and began a 5-game losing streak that wrote them off in many people’s books. Although they eventually righted the ship, got a TON of help from other teams, and ended up one-game short of postseason, you can still point to that London folly as an exposure point.

This season the New York Giants are hurt and a significantly worse football team as a result. Real easy to overlook them, but that would be a mistake. Even though they’re 4-8, the Giants aren’t out of the playoff race (mathematically at least) and would love nothing more than to knock Green Bay off and make their road tougher.

Look for Green Bay to get after rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito, with various pressures. Make him speed up his process and take advantage of potential turnover opportunities. The Packers defense is going to get a heavy run/pass dose from Saquan Barkley. (Let’s be real, he’s the only true threat offensively.) Bottle him up as best you can and you’ll keep them to their paltry average of 13.2 points per game.

Offensively Green Bay needs to continue what they’ve been doing: playing with confidence. No Christian Watson and Aaron Jones isn’t ideal, but Doubs, Reed, Dillon, and Wicks can get it done.

Speaking of confidence, you Love to see how Jordan’s confidence level has grown over the season. It’s lead to him playing some of the best football of his young career.

With that being said; who wins? Who prevails? Week 14, Packers, Giants, MetLife Stadium (shudders because of the turf), Monday Night Football?!

Green Bay 24 – New York 17

Lights are bright, but they have been for the past few weeks for Green Bay. Giants will fight, but the Packers will execute their gameplan far better than New York and exit with another win.

Remember: it does not matter the score. All that matters is I said the Packers would defeat the Giants on Monday Night Football.
